As a Receptionist / Front Office Executive at a hotel in Hikkaduwa, you will be the face of the hotel, providing excellent customer service to guests and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. You will be responsible for handling reservations, managing guest inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the lobby area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and assist with the check-in/check-out process.
  • Manage room reservations and update booking systems.
  • Handle guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and amenities.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other communications promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with guest requests, complaints, or special needs, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and manage billing queries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Keep records of guest feedback, complaints, and maintenance issues for resolution.
  • Monitor and manage the security of the reception area.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software or booking systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and well-groomed appearance.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest complaints tactfully.
  • Basic knowledge of local attractions and tourist information in Hikkaduwa is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Sinhala or Tamil; additional languages are a plus.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a receptionist, front office executive, or in customer service, preferably in the hospitality industry.
