As a QA Engineer based in Moratuwa with at least 1 year of experience, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications. Working closely with development, product, and QA teams, you will be involved in testing and validating applications to meet functional, performance, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute detailed test plans, cases, and scripts for manual and automated testing.
• Conduct various testing types including functional, regression, performance, and UAT.
• Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla, ensuring issues are resolved.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and technical implementations.
• Assist in building and executing automated tests within a CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies to ensure QA is aligned with the project goals.
• Analyze test results and generate comprehensive reports on defects and testing progress.
• Perform database testing, ensuring data integrity and proper functionality.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in software quality assurance or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, performance).
• Hands-on experience with testing tools like Selenium, JIRA, Postman, or similar platforms.
• Experience in Agile environments, understanding of Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, JUnit).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab (optional).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in a QA role, preferably in software testing.
