The Lecturer in Information Technology will be responsible for delivering high-quality, practical-oriented training programs at a well-established institute in Moratuwa. The role requires teaching various IT subjects, with a focus on hands-on learning to prepare students for the demands of the industry. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise and a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures and practical training on IT subjects, including ASP.NET, Node.js, Python, networking, databases, and software development.
- Design and implement course content that balances theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
- Guide students through hands-on projects, ensuring they can apply the skills they learn.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress through assignments, assessments, and examinations.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the curriculum remains relevant.
- Provide mentorship and support to students, helping them with academic and career-related guidance.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop new training modules and refine existing courses.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures to enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure the teaching environment promotes creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong technical proficiency in ASP.NET, Node.js, Python, networking, databases, and software development.
- Experience in delivering practical, hands-on training in an educational or corporate setting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and engage students in active learning.
- Proficiency in online teaching platforms and educational technology tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in teaching or training, preferably in an institute offering practical-oriented programs.
- Industry certifications in relevant technologies like ASP.NET, Node.js, or Python are an advantage.
